Aliz & Vitor live in Vancouver, Canada. Aliz is Hungarian, and Vitor is Brazilian. They first reached out saying they were looking to elope in Tahiti and were initially contemplating a wedding in Bora Bora. While I am based in Moorea, and perform/officiate most of my weddings in Moorea I can meet my couples on any island their hearts desire. I therefore find myself flying to Bora Bora a few times a year when one wants to get married in Bora Bora. Aliz & Vitor were not sure about how to plan a wedding in Tahiti, they had not picked a date yet, nor had they booked their flights so after reviewing their options and pondered over a
Bora Bora Wedding vs. Exchanging Personal Vows in Moorea
They decided on a Moorea wedding.
Aliz & Vitor met online. Vitor remembers being struck by Aliz’ smile. It literally lights up her face, and her dimples are the cutest he says!
Aliz admits being surprised at how effortlessly she felt at ease on that first date night; sure the two of them had been messaging for a while and it was all going on well, but Vitor’s calm, and positive presence in real life made it all incredibly easy. They first had a fancy dinner and drinks, and later headed to the movies. The fact that Vitor was interested in seeing a smaller-budget Canadian movie really tickled Aliz, by the way!
They both are huge animal lovers – no wonder I immediately clicked with them.
We certainly all have uncertainties about almost everything in life, but deep inside Vitor sure knew that Aliz was the one constant, the one thing he was sure about. After a head injury which could have killed him, seeing how she cared and nursed him through it all, he knew that a together forever would be a forever with Aliz. He probably wouldn’t be alive today if it weren’t for Aliz.
So someday, after they had brunch at the Teahouse in Stanley Park, one of their favorites, Vitor lured Aliz to a nearby vista overlooking English Bay. In traditional Vancouver fashion, it was drizzly and miserable, but Vitor took a deep breath, said a few words and got down on his knee…
And of course she excitedly said “Yes!”
Aliz & Vitor love to travel so eloping to get married in Tahiti was the way to go!
They married in Moorea back in May. Myself and the make-up artist and the hair stylist met at their resort in the early afternoon, bringing along their beautiful flowers. Aliz got her hair & make-up done, all while enjoying the stunning view off their bungalow, then got in her stunning lacy dress… let me tell you, she was drop dead beautiful!
We headed to a private islet beach for their celebratory ceremony, and met with their photographer there, who’s a fluent Portuguese speaker so Vitor and her were happy to share that!
We held their beach ceremony privately, and they then did some beach photos before we headed back together to the main island.
Their photographer then drove them around the island for some photos in the lush nature of Moorea, in the pineapple fields, up the mountains etc. before taking them back to their resort to catch the golden hour colors of the day.
Thank you Aliz & Vitor for entrusting me with your Moorea wedding, and we wish you a life full of everything you’ve ever dreamed of, including a home with a yard for your chickens and vegetable garden Aliz!
We had a magical time in Moorea, and were really taken away by how wonderful everything was on the day of our ceremony!! It was a pleasure to meet you, Audrey, Maryse, and Joanna!! You were so warm and welcoming ! Thank you so much for making our day so special and intimate (and painless)!! Moorea will forever live in our hearts <3 And we can’t wait to go back !
