Flower Crowns? Here’s How To Wow Your Guests With A New, Updated Look!

Back in 2016, Style Me Pretty released a(nother) list of wedding trends that they say have been so overdone in the years past that they should retire, and offered a new perspective on those selected wedding trends as well as some alternatives to consider, so that your wedding looks fresh and new! Among those Wedding Trends To Lose + Love, they discussed the flower crowns vs. a hair accessory. Truth be told, flower crowns had then become a must have for any bride who wanted to embrace the then-trending Boho style.
We’ve never met a flower crown we didn’t like, and apparently, neither have brides because they were the “it” for a bridal accessory the past few wedding seasons.

Being a destination wedding planner in Tahiti, where a girl wouldn’t even go to the grocery store without wearing a flower of some kind in her hair, I can safely say:

Flower Crowns Come In All Styles And Colors
Flower crowns are typical of a traditional Tahitian wedding, where the both of you will actually be wearing colourful flower crowns (and leis).

As an alternative, Style Me Pretty suggests to try a gorgeous hair accessory instead.
The best part? Your new hairpiece can become an heirloom that gets passed down to your future offspring!

As a Tahiti wedding officiant myself, conducting ceremonies of a Western-style in Moorea mostly, I’d say I have seen both trends equally requested by my brides. Typically, the hair style you choose will dictate whether or not a flower crown is a good idea for you.
Do I have a preference? Nope! I love either style so GO With What You Love!
