Qu Yan & Cao Dong live in China; they eloped to Bora Bora in early September and made the most of the opportunity to have an intimate wedding ceremony and a wedding photo shooting in Bora Bora while on vacation.
Qu Yan opted for a morning wedding ceremony at their resort in order to allow enough time for photos post ceremony and to capture the vibrant colors of the lagoon. While the blue colors of the lagoon are much brighter in the morning, it is important to note that it is also much hotter.
Qu Yan wore a long white wedding dress covered in delicate embroidered lace and a statement belt with beaded crystal stones for the ceremony, along with ivory lace wedding shoes and a two tier lace edge veil, and later changed into an Ah-mazing red dress.
Today, modern Chinese brides opt for the white Western wedding gown, but in the past red was the color that graced everything from clothes to decorations, even gifts in a Chinese wedding. The color red symbolizes happiness and prosperity, and what a better place than Bora Bora to celebrate your marriage?
