Cass & Andrew married 20 years ago in Australia and last month, they took a family trip to Tahiti to renew vows in Moorea.
The two of them met at University. Cass was always shy, not one to talk much, but Andrew made an impression on her after that student trip to Sydney when he managed to get the florist’s husband off his couch after the cut-off time for any delivery on a weekend to deliver a little soft teddy to her; she then knew he was special and couldn’t wait to see him again!
Andrew, on the other hand, knew by the end of the day she was the girl he would marry, like he recognized her immediately even though they were not really even a couple.
Cass & Andrew wanted a private, casual ceremony that involves the kids, and were looking for a very memorable location and private dinner for the 5 of them after the ceremony, that the kids would enjoy as much as they would.
We were all set to go to the North-Western coast of Moorea for their vow renewal ceremony, and the dinner, so that they would have the best sunset.
On the day though, the weather was not too cooperative to say the least, with torrential rain pouring down around the island, and most especially on the Western coast. The ceremony was scheduled at 4:15pm and by 12pm the circle island road started to get flooded out… so we seriously considered the backup plan; that was, some place under cover.
We went on with getting the girls pampered. Cass & her lovely daughter Kyarna had both their hair braided, and super light and natural make-up done. Best of all, Cass wore her wedding dress, one that was sewed by her mother 20 years ago… mind you, no alterations needed!!
Andrew and the two boys wore matching white shirts and linen brown shorts.
By the time they were ready, the sun had come out so we simply walked to a public stretch of beach that was running from their resort, and had the ceremony there. The colors around us were amazing, and I could barely believe that it was pouring so hard as I drove there just a few hours earlier.
We had postponed the private beach dinner to a few days later when the forecast was more promising so instead, we spent more time doing pictures and had our lovely family jump in the water and have fun! Even you did it Jackson!
You’re a beautiful, loving family, it was so touching to see you 5 cuddle and hug. I wish you all the very best for the next 20 years and more!
