2 weeks ago I was telling you about this lovely couple who had to postpone their wedding in Moorea by a couple of days, after the bride’s research expedition to Henderson Island in the Pitcairn Island group got unexpectedly extended. She and her team of marine scientists were not able to return to civilization at the schedule date.
Luckily the boat which transported them back to French Polynesia made it to Mangareva in the Gambier Island group just in time for the crew to catch the weekly flight back to Tahiti. They arrived safe and sound the night of September 1st.
All 5 of them had spent over 3 months in probably what is the most remote (and the least studied) island in the world, with no potable water and no power. They did not have wedding outfits in their backpacks either, mind you, but such an expedition really forges close ties so there was no way they would not attend Jenn’s beach wedding!
Jenn & Andrew stayed at a private estate in Moorea with Andrew’s parents Susan & Terry.
You would have never guessed that Jenn had literally just spent 3 months camping on Henderson! She looked so pretty in her sequin and chiffon dress:
We organized a private beach wedding ceremony to be then followed by the legal wedding ceremony at the City Hall in Moorea.
My favorite moment from the wedding is when Andrew concluded his vows saying “I vow to always be there to look after you when you can’t, because you are too busy looking after the planet.”
Jenn and the gang are really our planet’s heroes, big up to them!
And congrats to the lovely couple, thanks for having us!!!
